michael mcinturf ARCHITECTS believes that architecture can organize and shape the functional, cultural, and technological currents of the contemporary world. In each territory we engage, from furniture to building to master plan, we attempt to evolve an effective and responsible solution that takes advantage of new paradigms in industry, art, and business. Our strategy is to balance the deployment of precise performance criteria with the creative agitation of local equilibriums, leading to unforeseen innovations. Because of this experimental approach, the aesthetic signature of our work changes based on the specific context, budget, and program of each project.

Our work is supported by extensive research through our close relationship with academia. Projects begin with an investigation of the particular natural systems of each site. An intelligent abstraction of local climatic and biotic conditions informs the development of a digital building model, leading to the emergence of an ecologically calibrated design. Our projects generally combine conventional construction techniques with controlled factory fabrication systems, integrating technologies and ideas from diverse fields into the building process.
